About Odette
I wrote Remembering the Cosmic because I kept noticing how easy it is to lose sight of yourself while trying to work out who you’re supposed to be.
I know something about that myself.
I also spent more than 20 years working as a psychotherapist, sitting with people as they tried to make sense of their lives, their relationships, the things they believed and the choices they’d made along the way.
Eventually some of those conversations, questions and observations found their way into Chloe’s story.
Although Remembering the Cosmic is a novel – theories, tools and practical skills I used in my therapy practice are woven through the story. They are there for readers who are curious and want to explore them for themselves, not as instructions for how anyone should live.
I’m not particularly convinced any of us is qualified to write those.
At its heart, it’s a story about a woman finding her way back to herself and an invitation to wonder about some of the things we pick up along the way.
